Abstract:

<p>Forums are a form of social media that allow a large number of users to interact in a complex way on a variety of topics. Attempting to manually categorize users by their posting behavior can be problematic due to the heavy traffic most forums experience. Using data from a medium-sized bulletin board, we investigate ways to group users. We do this by performing hierarchical clustering techniques on a range of statistics describing their posting behavior.
